Minimally invasive surgery has always been a major focus for NeuroTexas. A number of the diagnosis and treatment procedures that our neurosurgeons perform at NeuroTexas require state of the art equipment and we are excited that Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Lakeway now has a new biplane neuroangiography suite. The suite will assist in the diagnosis and treatment of stroke, brain and neck tumors, aneurysms and other neurological conditions.
“The advanced biplane neuroangiography suite in Lakeway enables us to provide both surgical and interventional treatment for any number of neurovascular diseases, from carotid stenosis to the most complex brain aneurysms,” said James Waldron, M.D., of NeuroTexas.
Essentially what this new technology does is provide highly detailed three-dimensional views of blood vessels leading to the brain, as well as those deep within the brain, to assess blockages and other abnormalities. These views allow our neurosurgeons to provide minimally invasive treatment for a wide range of conditions including brain aneurysms, acute stroke, carotid artery stenting and embolization of brain tumors and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs).
Procedures that our NeuroTexas neurosurgeons perform utilizing a biplane angiography suit include:
• Cerebral Angiogram
• Endovascular Embolization
• Endovascular Coiling
• Endovascular Thrombectomy
We are thrilled that we can bring the best neurological surgical treatments to our patients.
